Urban Outreach Initiatives
Initiatives for 2010 | Interest Survey | Initiative Proposal | Quarterly Report
Based on our continuing assessment of the inner city of Milwaukee, the MMLMS continues to offer outreach initiatives for 2010 to be funded in part through Siebert Lutheran Foundation. This year we focus our outreach programs primarily in the areas of education, wellness, and structure to families. We want outreach programs that will help our churches and social agencies to be seen more as neighborhood-friendly and community-focused places, not just places to attend worship on Sunday.
The following preconditions must be met along with a submitted Initiative Proposal before funding will occur:
- The program has been approved by your church council or governing board
- Your congregation recognizes and supports the on-going initiative
- There is a designated person(s) responsible for the ministry who will be required to fill out quarterly reports
- There is a designated space at the church/school for ministry to occur
- Overall ministry is focused in one or more of these areas: Serving, Worship, Education or Fellowship
- There is an activity plan developed and accountability of funding is given back to the MMLMS on a quarterly basis
- There is a secondary purpose of each ministry in developing leaders
- By the ninth month of funding, a plan is in place from your church to continue funding the program internally or abandon it (We may consider additional funding if the program is growing or is in need of help in a specific area)
